Welcome
Welcome to the J&B Truck Farm website for the 2009 season!!
Are you a “locavore”? Good for You! Eating Local, has become a nation-wide movement and we feel the impact here at J&B Truck Farm. More of our customers are telling us they want to know where their food comes from, what practices we used to bring the food to harvest and why one variety of produce was chosen over other varieties. More people are coming to our booth at the Farmers Market or enrolling in our Delivery Service now because they know they are getting fresher, higher quality food, and they are making a good economic decision for their family budget. We take the trust of our customers very seriously and continue to use sustainable practices making our produce safe and our land use positive for the future.
Producing significant amounts to meet this rapidly expanding demand for local foods is the challenge for us this year. Several new vegetables will be available for our customers. Baby Bok Choy is sure to be a big hit, especially with our long outdoor grilling season, and a new summer squash promises to add interest to our squash selection. And, of course, heirloom tomatoes will continue to be a top choice, along with our wonderful purple potatoes, and super sweet Swiss Chard!
Don’t forget the flowers. With all the doom and gloom on TV and in the newspapers, a bright, pretty bouquet is exactly what needs to be in your home. Who can be gloomy with one of our big, beautiful sunflower on the kitchen table! Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, recently conducted behavioral research and discovered the presence of flowers triggers happy emotions, heightens feeling of life satisfaction, and affects social behavior in a positive manner far beyond what is normally believed. Common sense tells us that flowers make us happy, now scientists have positive proof.
Now is the time to get signed up for our Delivery Service for the 2009 season. We will email you on Sunday afternoon what is available for the upcoming week and you email us back by Tuesday afternoon with your order. Delivery is made on Wednesday mornings to your work address or home. This is an easy, stress free way to keep fresh produce or flowers for your family. Email billkromer@lvnworth.com to get enrolled now.
We continue to value you, our customers, and look forward to bringing you our very best. Check out our new vegetable listing on this website and remember–Eat Local!
